Why this exists
FROM BENCHI'm Bench, the creator of DayZ Nerd Squad and .bOne.
DayZ Nerd Squad started from a simple belief: learning DayZ modding should be accessible to everyone.
When I first began exploring the technical side of DayZ, I realized that a lot of knowledge was difficult to find, scattered across countless resources, or simply overwhelming for newcomers. I wanted to create a place where people could ask questions, learn new skills, and build incredible projects without feeling intimidated.
I wanted to create a place where people could ask questions, learn new skills, and build incredible projects without feeling intimidated.
So I created DayZ Nerd Squad.
From day one, the goal has been straightforward: provide as much knowledge, assistance, and support as possible ; for free.
Whether you're opening DayZ Editor for the first time, learning JSON, creating your first server, writing mods, or you're an experienced creator looking to refine your skills, there's a place for you here.
I believe knowledge grows when it's shared. The more people who understand how DayZ works, the stronger the community becomes. Better servers. Better creators. Better experiences for everyone.
DayZ Nerd Squad is more than a Discord server or a collection of tools. It's a community built around collaboration, education, and helping one another succeed. We encourage questions, celebrate learning, and believe everyone has something valuable to contribute.
None of us know everything, and that's what makes communities like this so valuable. Every question asked, every tutorial written, every problem solved, and every bit of knowledge shared helps move the DayZ community forward.
If you've learned something here, helped another member, or simply stopped by to ask a question, you've already become part of what DayZ Nerd Squad stands for.
Thank you for being here.
Let's build something worth sharing.

The Best Coding Community I’ve Ever Been A Part Of
When I first decided to run my own DayZ server, it was because none of the community servers offered what I was looking for, and I wasn't interested in playing Official. So I rented a server... and I had absolutely no clue what I was doing.
To put it into perspective, I somehow had 350 boxes of .22 ammo spawning across the map at all times. That's how little I understood coding.
Fast forward five months, and I've learned enough that I'm now able to help other server owners with their coding and setup. I wouldn't be where I am today without the people in Nerd Squad.
These are genuinely some of the best people you'll ever meet. I'm proud to call several of them friends. They'll spend hours helping complete strangers solve problems, answer questions, and teach them how things actually work; and they do it for free.
In a community where too many people care about “who made it first” or try to make a quick buck by scamming inexperienced server owners, Nerd Squad is the complete opposite. Their goal isn't to take from the community; it's to give back to it.
I know for a fact that Bench, Jukes, and the others could charge money for their builds and make a good chunk of change. The quality of their work speaks for itself. But instead, they choose to share their knowledge and creations freely because their mission isn't to make money; it's to build a stronger community with smarter, more knowledgeable server owners and coders.
It doesn't matter if you're on Xbox, PlayStation, or PC; if you're trying to learn, improve your server, or just need honest advice, this is the Discord you want to be in.
I can't recommend Nerd Squad enough. If you're serious about learning instead of getting taken advantage of, this is the place to start.
10/10 best coders out there I love them airdrops btw
