A real step-by-step setup walkthrough, plus the full command reference ; the same content the bot itself shows in Discord.
First-time setup
- Set the bot up from scratch
- Run
/quickstartin Discord. It walks you through connecting your server and creating your channels, one step at a time, and tells you what each step is for. - Connect my DayZ server
- Run
/setup nitrado. It opens a private form for your Nitrado API token and service ID, so neither is ever posted in a channel. Everything else depends on this being done first. - Create all my feed channels at once
- Run
/setup auto-channels. It creates every feed, event, game and ticket channel, sorted into categories, and sets up the .bOne Admin role at the same time./remove auto-channelsundoes it. - Let someone manage the bot without making them a server Administrator
- Run
/setup bot-admin-roleand point it at a role. For a lighter tier that can only do day-to-day moderation, use/setup mod-role, then choose exactly what they can touch on the dashboard Moderator Permissions page.
Managing your servers
- Rename a server
- Run
/setup server-rename, or use the Server Name box on the dashboard Server Config page. Only the label changes ; your economy, stats, punishments, zones and channels all stay exactly where they are. - Add a second DayZ server
- Run
/setup server-add. You can register up to 5 per Discord server./setup server-listshows what you have. - Remove a server
- Run
/setup server-removewithconfirm:true. This permanently deletes everything tracked for that server and cannot be undone, so if you only want to change its name, rename it instead. - Pay members Cash for their roles
- Run
/store admin income role:@Builder amount:100for each role you want to pay (or use the Income page on the dashboard), then pick how:mode:Automaticpays everyone with those roles every payday, mode:Claimlets members collect with/income. Set how often withevery_hours:(24 is daily). A member with several paying roles gets them all added up, into their linked gamertag's Cash. In claim mode,missed_pay:decides whether missed paydays are lost or save up (tosave_up_to:). In automatic mode,payday_channel:posts each payday. - See which items my map is short of
- Open Loot Stock on the dashboard (under Economy). It lists every item your server's own log says it is short of, worst first: none on the map, below the level DayZ refills at, and below target, with what to check in types.xml when one stays empty.
- Restart or stop the server
- Run
/restartor/stop./startbrings it back up. For a recurring restart, use/restart-scheduleto set the times and an optional warning message.
Moderation
- Make new members verify, so alternate accounts are kept out
- Run
/link admin verify channel:#verify role:@Verified, or use the Verification page on the dashboard. New members then press a Verify button, and accounts that look like alts (brand new, on a VPN, or sharing an internet connection with another member) wait for staff to approve them. Step by step:- Make the role members get once verified, like Verified. Give it no moderator or admin permissions: the bot never hands those out.
- In Server Settings, Roles, drag .bOne's role above Verified, and make sure .bOne has the Manage Roles permission.
- Make a #verify channel everyone can see, where .bOne can send messages and embed links. Have a staff-only channel for alerts too; your mod-log channel is used if you have one.
- Run
/link admin verify channel:#verify role:@Verified. Addalert_channel:#staff-alertsto send alerts somewhere other than the mod-log. If anything would stop it working, it tells you what to fix; otherwise it posts the Verify button. - Lock the server: in Server Settings, Roles, turn off View Channels for @everyone and turn it on for Verified, then let @everyone see #verify in that channel's own permissions.
- Test it with a second account: press Verify, then Open verification page, then Verify me. The role arrives within seconds.
- From then on, flagged members appear in your alert channel with Approve, Kick and Ban buttons, and on the dashboard Verification page. Change what happens for each check with the
new_account,vpnandsame_connectionoptions, and run/link admin verifyon its own to see the status.
- Stop members claiming a gamertag that is not theirs
- Run
/link admin proof enabled:True, or switch on Emote Proof on the dashboard Account Links page. From then on/link setgives the member two emotes (like Clap and Salute) to do in game as that gamertag within 30 minutes, and links them once your server's admin log shows both, usually within 10 minutes, with a DM to say so. Try it once yourself first: it relies on your server's admin log recording emotes, which most do. - Let members report players to the staff
- It is ready as soon as you have a Moderation Log channel; for a separate channel, run
/channel set type:Player Reports. Members run/player report(a gamertag or a member, a reason, an optional screenshot), or right-click a message and choose Apps, Report to staff. Each report posts in that channel with Claim, Resolve and Dismiss, and on the dashboard Player Reports page. The member gets a DM when it is closed, with your note if you add one. Admins can handle them; to let moderators handle them too, turn on Player Reports on the dashboard Moderator Permissions page. - Ban someone
- Run
/ban addwith their gamertag. Add areasonand the player is DMed why they were banned. Leavedurationempty for a permanent ban, or set it (30m, 2h, 1d, 1w) to auto-unban later. - Temporarily punish someone in Discord
- Run
/rolepunishto swap a member into the ban role for a set time and back again automatically. - Swap event spots in and out between restarts
- Upload your event files (the .json files with objects to spawn) to the mission's custom folder over FTP, then run
/rotation setup(or open the Rotation page on the dashboard and press Find My Event Files). Tick the files that should take turns, choose how many are live at once and when they swap, and it's on. For a second set of files on a different schedule, run/rotation setup pool:<new name>(or pick A new pool on the dashboard). - Check whether someone is supplying an alt account
- Run
/player crossed player:<their gamertag> other:<the suspected alt>. It says yes or no, and lists each time the two were together, or one turned up where the other had been within 6 hours (drop a kit, log off, the alt logs in and picks it up). It looks back 7 days unless you adddays:(up to 30). Needs the Map permission. It's a lead, not proof: the server log never shows items changing hands. - See what a player has done before
- Use the Punishments page on the dashboard. It shows every warning, kick, fine and ban for that server in one history.
- Stop the bot DMing people their punishment reason
- Turn it off per server on the dashboard. It is on by default, because a punished player who is not told why usually ends up asking you.
Community and engagement
- Announce when someone goes live
- Run
/creator linkto connect a Twitch, TikTok or YouTube account, then/creator adminto choose the channel. Going live and new posts are both picked up automatically. - Keep a message pinned to the bottom of a channel
- Run
/sticky setin that channel. The bot reposts the message whenever it scrolls away, so it stays the last thing people see./sticky clearturns it off. - Reward players for playing
- The Cash economy pays out for kills, playtime, travel, building and more. Configure the rates on the dashboard Store & Economy page.
- See who has the most Cash
- Run
/leaderboardand pick the Cash category. It ranks the top players on that server by balance.
